I saved my custom invite, but none of my custom text appears on the invite!
It’s easy
Set your computer up to save PDF files that have been customized. If you change the custom fields in our invitations and try to simply save the document, your custom changes won’t appear on the invitation. This is because saving the document won’t “keep” the text in those fields.
So what do I do to save the invite with my changes?
You need to be able to save the document as a brand new PDF. The easiest way to do this is to install a “PDF printer” program that will let you virtually “print” any document as a saved PDF file. This is great for all kinds of documents, not just our invites, as it will let you convert your other documents to PDF files in seconds.
First, see if your computer already has the ability to print as a PDF file
This really just means saving a document as a new PDF document. While looking at our invitation after you’ve typed your information in, click on the “print” icon as if you were going to print the document out. Instead of printing, change the destination printer from the one that’s shown to other choices. You may already have an option that says “Save As PDF” or “Print PDF.” If you see this option, choose it as the destination printer then click the “Save” button. You’ll be able to give your customized invitation a new name and choose where to save it. (For ease, save it on your Desktop so you can find it easily.)
If you don’t see the option that says “Save As PDF” or “Print PDF” under your printer choices, then you can quickly and easily install a PDF program for free that will allow you to do this. You can visit this link:
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp and choose the “Free Download” button or simply click here to download: http://www.cutepdf.com/download/CuteWriter.exe
Once the program is downloaded, simply run the program and follow the prompts. When you’re done, you can go back to your customized invitation and again click the “print” icon. Now you should be able to change your printer destination and choose “CutePDF” as the printer, then after selecting, you’ll see a “Save” button allowing you to save your customized invitation with your custom text. Give the new invite your own simple name and save it in an easy-to-find place (we recommend the Desktop.)
Want to attach your custom invite as an email attachment? Simply create an email to your party guests and attach your new invite by clicking the “paper clip” attachment icon in most email programs, then navigate to the new invite file you just created.
